WHY NH3 (AMMONIA) as an alternative fuel NH3:

  • Is totally carbon free
  • Can be produced from any primary energy source (i.e. wind, solar, biomass, coal, nuclear, hydro, etc.)
  • Is cost effective
  • Has significant storage and delivery systems already in place
  • Is environmentally friendly
  • Can be used in any prime mover (i.e. diesel engines, fuel cells, SI engines, gas turbines, etc.)
  • Has a proven, acceptable safety record

Call for papers
June 10, 2011

If you would like to present a paper at the NH3 Fuel Conference, please submit a title and half-page abstract to John Holbrook by June 10. The emphasis of the paper should be on some aspect of ammonia as a fuel - NH3 production, storage, distribution, safety, and end uses. Abstracts on the technical, regulatory, economic and policy aspects of ammonia are also acceptable. The presentations will be 25 minutes in length with 5 minutes Q&A.

Conference agenda

Participants can expect an excellent technical agenda covering all areas of NH3 as a solution to energy independence. Topics will include NH3 production, storage, delivery, end uses, as well as regulatory, environmental and safety topics.

There will also be a tour on Wednesday morning of the J.R. Simplot Rivergate NH3 terminal complex. Transportation will be provided.

Who should attend

Anyone from industry, academia or government who is interested in learning more about NH3, one of the most promising alternative transportation fuels.

Registration fee $300

Fee will include: Full conference, Sunday night reception, break refreshments, Monday and Tuesday lunch, Monday night dinner, bus transportation to all conference events and Wednesday morning's tour of the J.R. Simplot Rivergate NH3 terminal complex.
